How you finish your custom area rug will have a big impact on the final look. Scroll below to view our fabric and finishing options, including Cloth, Leather, Serged Edge and more.
As always, we recommend that you order binding swatches to determine which textures and colors best suit your home and style. The "order samples" option is accessible on each weave page.
Please note: border options vary by weave and not all options are available for every weave.
Cloth
The amount of border that shows on the face of the rug ranges from 1" to 3 1/2" and does not add to the width of your rug.
Cotton
Cotton is a soft, natural fiber border option that is best for indoor use. Multiple colors are available to finish your custom area rug.
Polyester
Polyester is a man-made synthetic textile that looks similar to natural cotton. This border option is slightly smoother to the touch than cotton and is easy to clean.
Linen
Linen is a textile made from the fibers of the flax plant and makes a lovely border on custom area rugs. Like cotton, it is natural but has a more textural feel.
UV Stabilized Polyester
UV stabilized polyester is a synthetic textile that looks similar to natural cotton but will resist fading from sunlight and is easy to clean—spills and stains wipe up easily with a clean, damp cloth.
Leather & Faux
The amount of border that shows on the face of the rug ranges from 2 1/4" to 3 1/2" and does not add to the width of your rug.
Distressed Leather
A distressed leather border has a dull shine, mild texture, natural weathering and feels soft to the touch. Leather wears well over time, showing a sophisticated look.
Smooth Leather
The smooth leather border is soft to the touch and wears well over time, showing a weathered and sophisticated look. Leather bindings are durable, natural, and more cleanable than fabric.
Leatheressence
Leatheressence is a synthetic border that looks like natural leather and is easy to clean. It has a light texture and is very soft to the touch.
Faux Leather
Faux leather is a synthetic border option that looks like natural leather, with added texture and a soft touch. This border is easy to clean and is available in an array of colors.
